Weaving together the memories of 8 artists from individual, cultural, and sociopolitical, and social lenses, the exhibition How Could I Forget? embraces the past in order to process the present. Exploring feelings of grief and gratitude, the art pieces bring each artist's inner world, and its memorial inclinations, to light. The title How Could I Forget? is two-fold, pointing to both a memory's persistence, or a careless slippage. The exhibition explores the complexity of remembering and forgetting, in an age of incessant documentation and accumulation. How Could I Forget? invites viewers to sift and sort through their own collections of memories. If time is nonlinear, where does one moment begin and another one end? How does one inform the other?
