Join exhibit curator and moderator Stephen Petrus, Director of Public History Programs at LaGuardia and Wagner Archives, and gay rights activists Allen Roskoff and Rich Wandel to reflect about the gay rights movement.Danny Dromm, former Queens City Councilmember and co-founder of the Queens Pride Parade, will deliver introductory remarks. The panel will revisit the heated debates about gay and lesbian rights during the mayoralties of John Lindsay, Abe Beame, and Ed Koch. The program will also feature excerpts of oral history interviews from the exhibit. Panelists will discuss the roles of advocates and opponents of the bill and consider why it took so long for the legislation to pass. Register for up to 3 free tickets. More Info below.
