Chenin Blanc From Loire

Chenin Blanc is one of the most versatile and historically significant white grape varieties in the world. Originating from the Loire Valley, it can produce a wide range of wine styles from dry and austere to rich and even sweet. The wines from this region often have high acidity, minerality, grip, and intensity, and the top producers can be aged for decades. Not aiming for the top producers, let’s also not aim for the lowest and therefore try to bring a bottle around the $30 range. In particular, look for wines from Savenniéres, Vouvray, and Montlouis, and possibly if you can find it White Chinon (chenic blanc from the Chinon which is more known for their Cabernet Franc red wines) which can be quite delicious. Note: chenin styles can be wide ranging and sometimes confusing, so if you’re not sure if a wine is dry style, ask the wine proprietor for assistance if possible. For this evening please bring the following: · 1 bottle of Loire Valley dry style chenin blanc · 4 glasses · 1 food item to share Let us know if there’s any questions. We look forward to having you and trying some of these wines together! More Info below.
