The Socio-Environmental Tijuana River Project and the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice present a short film screening and discussion panel exploring environmental and structural violence surrounding the Tijuana river and the experiences of deported individuals living in the Tijuana canal. The following short films will be [hidden] Promises (Madeline Yang)Bad Hombres (Juan Antonio del Monte & Rodrigo Ruiz Patterson)Tijuana Séptica (Caminante del Tiempo)Soundtrack de la Vida (Luis Salazar & Alan Calderón Villareal) The short films discuss graphic content and distressing themes, such as drug use and violence. Please note this event will be held in English. This event is free and open to the public. Check-in begins at 5:00 PM. Theater seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please factor in 15 minutes to walk or take the tram from the West Parking Structure to the theater. Together with partners, the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice develops and champions evidence-based, justice-centered solutions to ending cycles of violence.
