Making: Stories Without End Podcast Launch

Join WBEZ Chicago and the DuSable Museum for a special event celebrating the latest season of the critically acclaimed podcast Making. This season, Making: Stories Without End, premieres on April 8 and takes listeners on a fascinating six-episode journey through the origins and enduring legacy of soap operas. The podcast features journalist Natalie Moore, who tells the Chicago origin story of soap operas and their enduring influence that helped shape American television as we know it today. Stories Without End explores how these dramas not only reflected cultural change but often pushed the boundaries of what audiences were ready to confront. To mark the launch, the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center will host an exclusive conversation with Natalie Moore on Sunday, April 6, from 2–3 p.m. Dive into the rich history of daytime television and explore the impact of Black representation in soap operas—from early radio dramas to modern-day storytelling. Join us and be part of the conversation as we discuss how soap operas have shaped pop culture and broken barriers in storytelling. This event is free and open to the public—don’t miss it!
