2025 Community Carillon Day

For only two hours, our carillon tower at Rockefeller Chapel will be open for you to climb at your leisure! You can take your time to wander along the spiral staircase, watch playing demos, and enjoy the 360º view from the roof. We will also offer special tours of our basement practice instruments at 1:30 and 2:30 PM. As an open house, this event is free and open to all as long as you show up between 1-3 PM (suggested donation $5, free with UChicago ID). Enter through south entrance on 59th Street. The tower is 271 steps in total (5-10 minutes one-way), not recommended if you fear enclosed spaces! We also offer regular tower tours Tue-Fri 11:30 AM and 4:30 PM. More Info below.
