We will conduct a "grounding session" at the end of the event, but please take time to care for yourself afterward. We will be screening the film "Juvenile: Five Stories," which follows the experiences of five young individuals who entered the criminal justice system in various ways. The film documents their challenges and how they overcame obstacles, using their lived experiences to address their traumas. It also offers insight into how the justice system could prioritize trauma-informed rehabilitation and stability instead of punitive measures for youth.Following the film, we will host a live panel discussion featuring a panel of professionals and youth with similar lived experiences that complement the film's themes. This screening aims to spark conversation and empower youth—especially those who have faced similar challenges—to understand that they are more than their mistakes. We want to demonstrate how they can use their experiences to improve their communities and reimagine the criminal justice system as a whole. More Info below.
