Join Black Fiber and Textile Network, and Bedstuy Clothes Swap at Lips Cafe for an evening exploring the intersection of fiber, sustainability, and Black identity. There will be a screening of the bftn documentary followed by a discussion about the work of bftn members, and Black regenerative fiber futures. The event will conclude with a clothes swap provided by Bedstuy Clothes Swap.Event Highlights: Film Screening: The evening will begin with a short introduction and special screening of Woven From Nature, bftn’s short documentary which explores the connection between fiber and textile systems, our environment, and Black identity through cultural preservation.Talkback Session: After the film, join us for an engaging discussion and Q&A about the work of bftn members, and Black regenerative fiber futures.Clothes Swap: We’ll wrap up the event with a community clothes swap, hosted by Bed-Stuy Clothes Swap. Bring up to 5 gently used items to trade in 10-minute intervals. This will ensure everyone has a chance to swap and refresh their wardrobe with new finds!
