Opening Celebration for Sikh Art Exhibit "Nānaka Ivẽ Jāṇīẽ: Contemporary Janamsakhi Paintings" Valarie Kaur and Friends invite audiences to explore sacred narratives through art, music and poetry through contemporary lenses to address pressing social, political, and environmental issues. Show 1-3pm: Renowned author and activist Valarie Kaur will bring alive stories and music from her new book SAGE WARRIOR, and album by Sonny Singh: SageWarrior.us. Together with legendary rabab player Qais Essar and LMU Professor Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa on the jori-pakhawaj, they invite audiences into a space of reflection, where past and present intertwine, sparking contemplation on our collective futures through the path of Revolutionary Love.
