All of humanity celebrates the winter solstice. Long before the Abrahamic religions came to be, tribal groups marked the darkness of the winter solstice with music and dancing to rekindle their hopes for the return of spring. We will celebrate with music from many different cultures including tunes as ubiquitous as the American classic "Christmas Time Is Here" to the Kurdish folk melody "Zivistane" (In Winter). Join us for this high-spirited evening of international song with ethnomusicologist Yale Strom and members of the Hot Pstromi Ensemble. Free admission with registration.
