Join us for an opening reception of Transcending Uncertainty: Art Endures at Home in Philadelphia, an exhibition showcasing over 50 works by 42 former University of the Arts (UArts) students, faculty, and staff. The reception on Wednesday, December 18, 5–7 p.m. at City Hall will begin on the 5th floor, northeast corner. Visitors should sign in at the northeast corner Visitor’s Entrance. This is the first exhibition in the City Hall Art Gallery since its closure in spring 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Transcending Uncertainty is a collaboration between Creative Philadelphia and Councilmember Rue Landau, supporting those affected by the recent closure of UArts. The exhibit opened November 27 and will be on view through January 25, 2025, during City Hall operating hours, Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Artworks are displayed on the 1st-floor gallery (Creative Philadelphia, Room 116) and the 5th-floor corridor near City Council offices.
