90's Crime Double Feature @ Black Potion - L.A. Confirdential / Ususal Suspects

LA Confidential - 6:00pm - 8:20pm Usual Suspects - 8:30pm - 10:15pm We'll be joining our friends at Black Potion Movie Daze as they screen a pair of modern 90s crime classics. First up, Oscar-award winning L.A. Confidential (1997) in which three policemen - one strait-laced, one brutal, and one sleazy (Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey, and Guy Pearce) - investigate a series of murders with their own brand of justice as corruption grows in 1950s Los Angeles. This amazing film also features Kim Basinger, who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance! Afterward, we’ve got another Oscar winner - The Usual Suspects (1995), where the sole survivor of a pier shoot-out tells the story of how a notorious shadow criminal influenced the events that began with five criminals meeting in a seemingly random police lineup. This one also has a fantastic cast that includes Kevin Spacey (who won an Oscar for his performance!), Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, and Giancarlo Esposito! I'll be in the lobby near the register trying too look inconspicuous, to meet and greet. As always, the movies are FREE! The HUGE selection of craft beers, ciders, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks are COLD! And the tasty snacks are PLENTIFUL! For those not familiar with Black Potion, it is a game room up front with a store section and food/beverage counter, and a 40-50 person theater with a huge screen in the back half of the building.
