Screening Of Banned Together

Please join us for a FREE screening of the documentary Banned Together. This is a Private, Pre-Release Screening and is being held in the communitiy room of the Rancho Penasquitos Branch Library. The screening is hosted by Girl Scout Troop 3182. Banned Together pulls back the curtain on two of the most controversial issues in America today: book bans and curriculum censorship in public schools. Banned Together follows three young women during their senior year of high school as they fight hostile community members and school board officials to reinstate these banned books.  We witness their evolution from local to national activists as they advocate at school board meetings, sit down with national politicians, famous authors and constitutional scholars, and ultimately, speak on stage at the Right to Read Rally during the American Library Association’s annual conference in Chicago. The duration of the documentary is 93 minutes. Movie Trailer: [hidden] Attendees will receive an emailed questionnaire following the screening from Atomic Focus.
