Amaranth Cooking Workshop

Join the Armory at the Altadena Community Garden where we’ll exchange amaranth recipes and get hands-on experience with cooking this traditional pre-Columbian staple during an all-ages workshop led by members of Malaqatel Ija, Semillas Viajeras, Seed Travels. We invite you to come, share, and eat. In this hands-on workshop we will make a recipe using amaranth greens and seeds. This is an all ages family friendly workshop using ingredients from the garden. Please bring an amaranth recipe to share if you have one or add to our growing community amaranth cook book via email [hidden]. All recipes will be translated into Spanish and English and shared with everyone in the form of a PDF or zine at the end of the exhibition. There is limited space for this event.
