[NEW YORK, NY, — Saturday, September 14, 2024 — Join us from 10 AM to 5 PM on 30th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues (aka Music Street) for a social justice and cultural music festival to celebrate the commitment to an equitable New York City as well as to resilience and respect for the community. This event is sponsored by like-minded coalitions, including concerned citizens, activists, community members, artists, advocates, residents, social groups, educators, service providers, and public servants. IT'S A FREE EVENT! Open air, runs the block. No need to purchase tickets. The Festival is a “Call to Action” (1) to foster a sustainable society through better health, housing and equitable development, (2) to reclaim our city from those who prioritize profit over people, and (3) to examine the causes of growing inequalities and our crumbling infrastructure for the past several years. In this pivotal election year, we invite the public to share ideas on this exciting day to leverage our voice in the public interest. Musician Steve Marshall, who has lived on the block since 1975, will organize New York City’s top musicians Arno Hecht (sax — The Rolling Stones), Charlie Roth (Keyboards — Ozzie Ozbourne), Tony Machine (Drums — Buster Poindexter), and Richard Michaels (Elephant's Memory/ owner of Rogue music residing on Music Street for 28 years!) & additional artists/bands TBA. Get ready for after-events and parties. The 1% and their political operatives are bludgeoning our economy and funneling wealth upward, as many New Yorkers are becoming poorer and struggling for mental, physical, and economic health. Join us to uplift our community amidst these struggles. Join us for Communities Together: NY Social Justice and Music Fest to let your voices be heard; we’re stronger and louder together!
