Resonant Rhythms of the Soul We are pleased to announce the exhibition event “Resonant Rhythms of the Soul” by Ryunosuke Okazaki at Apogee Studio. Ryunosuke Okazaki was born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1995 and graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School in 2021. In 2022 he was selected as a finalist for the "LVMH Prize 2022" and in 2023 he was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. This year, 2024, his work is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, where it is included in the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. Okazaki's work transcends artistic boundaries, exploring fusion and innovation in expression. Born and raised in Hiroshima, Okazaki considers his wish for peace, which he has felt since childhood, as a “prayer” and an important element of his expressive practice. His signature “JOMONJOMON” series of works is inspired by the connection between human and nature that has existed since ancient times in Japan, bringing the awe of nature and prayers for life back to life in the modern age. Okazaki's works do not have blueprints, but are created by the sensations of his hands and his dialogue with the materials. The way in which the forms are gradually formed, as if by cell division, evokes the mystery of life for humans, animals, and plants. In this exhibition, Ryunosuke Okazaki will collaborate with Apogee Studio, a favorite of many up-and-coming and legendary musicians, in a free and improvisational expression. The soulful power of music created by rock musicians and Okazaki's art will resonate, offering new energy and inspiration to visitors. Five new works by Ryunosuke Okazaki will be presented at “Resonant Rhythms of the Soul” . We hope you will join us for this special event. More Info below.
