A Potluck & Conversation On Friendship

New to Houston? Looking to connect with new people? Want to try new food? This may be the event for you! The Epworth League is an adult group ranging in age from 20s-30s who value hospitality, mutuality, storytelling, and inclusivity. We work to curate community, foster discipleship, and equip leaders to better love their neighbors, serve God, and be the Church. This event is designed to be a place for strangers to become friends, and for friends to learn more about one another. The cost of the event is free, but we do ask you bring, "a side dish with a story" to contibute to the potluck. Ideally it'll be enough for 4-6 people, but whatever you can bring is perfect. Maybe it'll be dish that is nostalgic from your childhood, something that you ate on hard days during college, or maybe it's a new find that brings you joy. Leading up to the meal we will ask you complete a brief "Get to Know You" form. This form will be used to help you find likeminded people to sit with. We will have time to mingle before and after dinner, but while we sit down to eat you'll have a place set for you. Once you complete this form you will given the address for the event. Conversation will be curated by our Epworth League Director, Ashley Hamel, along with her friend and Journalist/Author/Pastor Rev. Jeff Chu. (@byjeffchu). We will be learning more about what makes a friendship, how to be a good friend, and how we can learn more about one another through food. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. More Info below.
