Sa Amin: Our Place Film Screening

SA AMIN: OUR PLACE Film Screening Join us for a screening of the new documentary SA AMIN: OUR PLACE co-directed by Dyan Ruiz. SA AMIN is the untold story of Filipinos in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, the cultural heart of the Filipino-American community. The film tells the story of how Filipino activists, artists and intergenerational families are claiming a right to the city, battling against displacement caused by urban renewal, real estate speculation, and tech booms. The film features never before seen archival footage from the late documentary filmmaker Sam Tagatac. The event will open with a reception to celebrate the "Filipinos of South Bay" exhibition and Oscar Peñaranda reading from his most recent book "Follower of the Seasons: A Onethology in Symphony”.
