Whatever Spectrum Media Collective Presents "The Show!"

The Show! is a short meditative comedy film about teen outsiders from a Chicago Public High School who are brought together by classmate and artist, Rachel! The film celebrates the joyful and weird in-between spaces that queer, black, brown, and immigrant students create in a broken school system. It was developed as a collaboration between Chicago Public School Students (most from Sullivan High School in Rogers Park), educators, and filmmakers - with youth both in front of and behind the camera. The Show! is the second in a series of films that takes inspiration from the real lives of young people to tell stories that don’t often make it to the screen. The Show! will premiere in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago at the Rhapsody Theater on July 27th, 2024. This project is partially supported by an Individual Artists Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, as well as a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, from federal funds through the National Endowment for the Arts.
