On Saturday, October 21st, from 7-10PM, the Art Car Museum will host the opening of an exhibition by artist, museum founder, and cultural phenomenon Ann Harithas. The exhibition, The Creative Era of Ann Harithas is an in-depth retrospective of the many ways Harithass creative vision manifested itself over the course of the 20th and 21st centuries.This exhibition travels to the Art Car Museum from Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art in Victoria, Texas. Originally curated by Maurice Roberts for Five Points Museum, the installation at the Art Car Museum will be uniquely adapted to the space originally founded by Ann and James Harithas.The Creative Era of Ann Harithas is both a retrospective of the acclaimed collage artists body of work, and a tribute to what is truly an era of creativity ignited by Harithas.This exhibition will focus on the extensive body of collage works created by Harithas from the 1980s to the 2010s, as well as her own art car creations and those she commissioned and collected. The exhibition will also consider this work in the context of her contributions to the artistic communities in Houston, Victoria, and points beyond such as New York and California. More Info below.
