The City of Boston is relaunching Open Newbury Street starting on August 21, 2022, for six consecutive Sundays of car-free Newbury Street.Newbury Street will be car-free from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., from Berkeley Street to Massachusetts Avenue. The intersections of Exeter Street, Fairfield Street, Gloucester Street and Hereford Street will be car-free. The remaining intersections will be open to vehicular traffic for public safety access. Parking will be restricted beginning at 5 a.m.Whether you’re shopping, dining out, or just going for a walk, pedestrian-only days on Newbury Street are a Boston summer staple.Open Newbury Street will occur on these Sundays in 2022: August 21August 28September 4September 11September 18September 25Newbury Street is a mile-long, eight-block stretch of shops, salons, galleries and restaurants.
