Socrates Sculpture Park Free Admission Wednesday

Free Admission Wednesday at Socrates Sculpture Park - see INFO below. The Socrates Annual is the culminating exhibition of our Emerging Artist Fellowship (EAF) program. The program and exhibition are distinct in their mission to foster the vision of each individual artist rather than present an overarching theme. Every year, fifteen artists are selected through a competitive open-call application process. Artists including Sable Elyse Smith (EAF16), David Brooks (EAF09) Hank Willis Thomas (EAF06), Orly Genger (EAF04), and Sanford Biggers (EAF01) have participated in the EAF program since it was formalized in 2000. Our artist fellows are each awarded a production grant and 247 access to the Parks outdoor artist studio to realize their respective public art projects. Please note: we do not provide residential housing for artist fellows. The fellows completed artworks are exhibited together in The Socrates Annual, which traditionally opens in the fall. The application for the 2018 Emerging Artist Fellowship (EAF18) program is closed. If you would like to view the EAF18 proposal guidelines, click HERE. The call for 2019 applications will go out in fall 2018.
